Fertilization Process, What Happens Before Pregnancy

The fertilization process begins when the sperm cell meets the egg in the uterus. No one knows for sure when fertilization occurs, until finally signs of pregnancy appear. Next, your doctor will calculate your gestational age based on the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Egg cells in a woman's body mature in certain periods of each month. While the male body always produces millions of sperm. But of the around 350 million sperm produced during ejaculation, at least only one sperm can successfully fertilize an egg.

Like This The Fertilization Process

When reaching orgasm, men secrete semen that is rich in sperm. This fluid runs into the uterus to find a way to meet the egg. Certain sexual positions are believed to facilitate the entry of sperm into the uterus, thus allowing pregnancy. Soft contractions in the uterus help sperm in the female reproductive tract to reach the egg. Sperm will travel approximately 18 cm from the cervix to the fallopian tube, where the egg is located. The first sperm that meets the egg will try to penetrate the egg shell to fertilization. Generally, these sperm can swim at a speed of 2.5 cm every 15 minutes. Some sperm can take half a day to reach the destination. The fastest time for sperm to reach the egg in 45 minutes. Fertilization must occur within 24 hours after the egg is produced. After one of the sperm has successfully penetrated the egg, the egg will change shape and form a layer so that other sperm cannot penetrate. This is called the fertilization process, and will continue to be the process of pregnancy. However, if sperm cannot find an egg to fertilize, they can remain in the fallopian tube for up to seven days after intercourse. If within seven days the woman ovulates, there is still the possibility of conception and pregnancy. Ovulation is the release of an egg from one of the ovaries in the uterus to be fertilized by sperm.

After the Egg is Fertilized

After the fertilization process, genetic material in the fertilized sperm and egg or zygote combine to form new cells. The cells formed then descend the fallopian tubes to the uterus. On the way to the uterus, these cells continue to divide until they become more than 100 cells when they arrive at the uterus, becoming an embryo. A new pregnancy will occur when the embryo has implanted itself in the uterine wall to later develop. This process is called implantation. Some women experience minor bleeding during implantation, which is about 1-2 days. When the uterine wall strengthens, the cervix is also covered with fluid, making it a suitable place for the baby to develop. There are times when an ectopic pregnancy occurs, which is when a fertilized egg is implanted outside the uterus, for example in the fallopian tube. This condition is a serious condition that requires immediate medical treatment. Ectopic pregnancy is often characterized by abdominal pain, bleeding and pain in the shoulder. The process of fertilization is the beginning of pregnancy. Even if you can't feel the process, see your obstetrician immediately after signs of pregnancy appear. Then do regular pregnancy checks according to doctor's instructions to monitor the health of the fetus and mother.

Understanding the Doppler Function and How It Works

Doppler is a medical examination tool that uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasonography), to estimate the condition of blood flow through blood vessels. If ultrasound (USG) generally uses sound waves only to produce images, Doppler ultrasound can be used to monitor blood flow, so it is useful to determine the diagnosis of various diseases, especially those related to problems in blood vessels. Doppler Procedure Process The Doppler ultrasound process usually begins by applying gel to the skin surface of the part of the body to be scanned. Next, a handheld device called a transducer will be placed on the surface of the skin to begin scanning. This device will then send sound waves which will then be amplified through a microphone. Sound waves will bounce off solid objects, including blood cells. So the movement of blood cells will be monitored when the reflection tone of the sound wave changes, known as the Doppler effect. It is through these sound waves that doctors can asses...
